Our book online now servicesOur classes are friendly open & flexible in their scope, covering all aspects of stone carving for all skill levels.
We maintain a low student to teacher ratio, with no more than 6 students per course, meaning each student’s experience can be tailored to their ambition & skill level while insuring they receive plenty of one to one tuition & guidance.
We have plenty of resources here at the workshop to give you inspiration, but we are more than happy for you to discuss your ideas so that we can help you realise them in stone.
Our team has broad & expert knowledge in every aspect of working stone, from decorative architectural & ornamental carving through to figurative & conceptual stone sculpture as well as letter drawing & cutting for memorials, signs and plaques.
Weekend courses cost £275 per person (including vat) and run from 10am to 4.30pm both days. Everything needed to produce your carved piece is provided: stone, tools, safety equipment & space.
Students will leave with the basic skills & knowledge needed to continue carving & we will be happy to give ongoing support advice & guidance on the sourcing of tools, stone etc to students once they have completed a course with us.
We also offer private one-to-one tuition. These private sessions can be tailored to the individual students’ specific skill level & area of interest; from sculptural and ornamental stone carving processes to letter drawing & cutting for memorials. I spent a fantastic weekend on the London Stone Carving beginners course a couple of weeks ago. Tom and Tom were great to work with and really encouraged us all. As someone who has never picked up a chisel and mallet in my life I was amazed at what we achieved over the weekend. I thoroughly recommend this course and huge thanks to the team for their tuition and help.
They do beautiful sculptural work and also offer helpful, practical courses for anyone interested in trying out the craft. Took one weekend course, would do another.
If you fancy a couple of days feeling like a bonafide sculptor / stone mason surrounded by legitimate works of Art then this is the course for you. The two Toms' were on hand to answer any question, big or small. A satisfying few days that I would certainly recommend.
